Ok the only avidce i can give is that make sure only one of you is in charge. Me and a couple guys tried it a year ago and everone of us wanted to make desicions and none of us could agree with eachother. For the fake blood you would have to buy it because a lot of people have tried making it but it never works unless you can find out exactly how big production special effects people make it. It also depends on how much you need and how quick .

I have been making independent films since I was 10. I made a movie last year and I am make a sequil this summer that is in pre-production. I was unhappy with some aspects of the first on so I have been researching about movie making tips and this is the best site I can find: http://www.exposure.co.uk/eejit/
The following I found on a website and saved to my computer to remember. It has come in handy quite a lot. Hope it helps!
Some of the world’s greatest filmmakers are household names: Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are just two examples. It is every filmmakers’ dream to have their ideas hit the big screen, but to see a film through to completion, one must have certain qualities to ensure production goes smoothly. Some of the top qualities filmmakers should have include:
1. Authoritative: A great filmmaker must have a strong sense of authority. They are responsible for leading a team to create an outstanding finished product and must command the team to ensure they are working at their best.
2. Communication: A great filmmaker must have excellent communication skills. They must be able to clearly articulate what their production goals are and be able to work with all team members to accomplish that goal.
3. Creativity: A great filmmaker must be very creative. They must be able to generate ideas for stories, backgrounds, music, and other elements that are involved in a film production.
4. Decisive: A greatfilm maker must be able to make firm decisions and stick to them to help ensure production stays on track.
5. Drive: A great filmmaker has a tremendous sense of drive and ambition. They are willing to do whatever it takes to rise to the top of the industry and make great films.
6. Grace Under Pressure: A great filmmaker is able to handle pressure well. They understand that complications will arise during the film making process and are able to handle the stress.
7. Open Minded: A great filmmaker is open minded to changes in his or her ideas. They accept input readily and consider other points of view without judgment.
8. Problem Solving: A great filmmaker can quickly address problems that arise during production. They are able to identify problems and figure out the best way to fix them.
9. Technologically-Savvy: A greatfilm maker is familiar with many, if not all, of the technological elements that are involved in the film making process. They have a grasp on what is feasible and what is not.
