Graduates from Trebas Institute, a private college specializing in career training for the entertainment industry, were nominated for seven Grammy Awards this year.
The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences hosted ?Music?s biggest night? on the 12th of February, and Trebas? graduates were front and center. The school?s most visible representative was Audio Production graduate Noah ?40? Shebib, who recorded, engineered and mixed a host of Grammy-nominated recordings, including the Rihana album ?Loud?, which was nominated for ?Album of the Year?. Shebib also engineered and mixed:
?Moment 4 Life?, featuring Drake and Nicki Minaj, from the album ?Pink Friday?, which was nominated for ?Best Rap Performance?; ?What?s My Name?? from the album ?Loud?, performed by Rihanna and Drake, which was nominated for ?Best Rap/Sung Collaboration?; Lil Wayne?s ?Tha Carter IV? album and Nicki Minaj?s ?Pink Friday? album, both of which were nominated in the ?Best Rap Album? category.
Elsewhere, former student David Mustaine, lead guitarist and vocalist with the band Megadeth, was nominated for ?Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance? for the song ?Public Enemy No. 1?, from the album ?Thirt3en?.
Meanwhile, Gregg Allman?s ?Low Country Blues? was nominated for ?Best Blues Album?. It was engineered and mixed by Trebas graduate Michael Piersante, an eight-time Grammy Award winner. Michael won three Grammy Awards in 2009, including ?Album of the Year? and ?Record of the Year? for Robert Plant and Alison Krauss? ?Raising Sand? album. He recently completed engineering/mixing albums for Elton John, Willie Nelson, Elvis Costello and John Mellancamp.
?One of the reasons for our students? success is the practical curriculum, which is designed to match industry job requirements,? says David P. Leonard, President and Founder of Trebas Institute. ?In one year of intensive studies, students acquire the knowledge, skills and professionalism needed for entry level positions in their chosen industry. In addition, the college?s internship program and job placement service helps them network and find their niche,? says Leonard.
Established in 1979, Trebas Institute is a trusted industry source for well-trained audio production engineers, sound designers, entertainment managers and a variety of professional roles in the film and television production sector. With a number of experienced and well-known instructors, Trebas? concentrated programs emphasize practical, hands-on learning, which ensure that graduates have the experience and confidence needed to step directly into the workforce.

A chic peek at the glittering inhabitants of Paris’s most exclusive neighborhood With the sting of a good Camembert, Kate Muir’s fiction debut is a sophisticated, fun, and delightfully ironic look at family life, Left Bank style. Olivier and Madison Malin are the toasts of Rive Gauche. A philosopher and media personality, Olivier is the darling of the Paris cafés with his perfectly tousled hair and mistress de jour on speed dial. An American film star turned Parisian “It” girl, Madison busies herself playing the part of the bon vivant. But when a crisis occurs with their daughter, these self-centered parents are forced to focus on something more than their own reflections. Left Bank is at once a delicious satire of Parisian pretension and a celebration of the city’s alluring glamour.
